Mastering the water system on our camper

The first couple stops, we were filling our tank, disconnecting the local water and using the camper pump to push water to our sinks, toilet and shower.  That's OK, works well enough, but probably not the best long term camping solution.  At our current site, I hooked our camper to the water source and updated my water interface to draw water on demand from the provided source, the City Water option that says "City Inlet to fixtures".  That's the one we want to use most often.  When Its too cold and a threat to freeze overnight, I would disconnect the hose and use the Dry Camping option.  It says "Water from tank via pump".  That's good for boon docking too, when no water source is available to connect to.

Next, I added a water pressure adapter at the source.  In RV living, water pressure is important.  Not too much anyway.  Between 40 and 60 PSI is recommended.  The valve at the source mitigates the pressure, if there is too much.  Controlling the flow of water from the source keeps your camper plumbing hardware healthy.  Or so I'm told.  there is an adapter set to 50 psi at the top of the filter.  I also changed that out.  We had used the previous filter for about 2 months and a few tank fills.

After hooking it up and testing that we had a good draw, pressure - I noticed the receptacle at the camper was leaking a bit.  Not a huge deal, since the dripping water was running onto the ground, not into the camper, but still not ideal.  My wife reminded me that we had purchased a couple adapters to help with this. pictured below is an elbow adapter, that screwed in nice and tight into the receptacle on the camper.  To it, I added a quick connect adapter.  Both the elbow and quick connect adapter will stay hooked or plugged in.  I only need to squeeze, pull down and release the the bottom of the quick connect adapter that stays attached to the external house.  Here is a closer look at the quick release adapter on the elbow.  The quick release adapter will stay connected to the elbow which will stay connected to the inlet value.  Easy breakdown and future setup, with no leaking!

Finally I added the other end of the nylon water house to the quick connect adapter.  When we breakdown to leave in a few days, I will only need to squeeze the middle of the quick release adapter to remove the house.  Quick breakdown and no leaking.

I have much to learn, but so far have learned a lot about the water system in our camper.
